Jessica says Goodbye to Happy Birthday, SNSD vacationing, YoonA in Paris?

Back in April, we reported that SNSD / Girls’ Generation member Jessica would become a regular guest on KBS2TV’s Happy Birthday. After being on the show for a little over a month, Jessica bids farewell to the show. Jessica stated that she really enjoyed her time on the show and she also showed off her quick-wit on the show.

The reason she’s leaving is because SNSD needs time to prepare for their upcoming overseas activities. However, before the overseas promotions begins the girls will have some free time. And it seems some of the girls are using that time to vacation. Taeyeon was recently spotted in Singapore and there’s reports that Tiffany is in Los Angeles. In addition, Sooyoung was spotted in New York and YoonA was reportedly spotted eating lunch at a cafe in Paris. There’s no word on why Yoona is in Paris but it makes me a bit curious why she would be there, if we find out we’ll let you know.

SNSD unveils Japanese promo pictures

Well it certainly seems like we’ve been waiting forever, but SNSD has finally granted our wish! Their Japanese promotion photos was recently revealed and the girls are as charming as ever.

And with them using Genie as their debut Japanese single, it was no surprise that this wave of promotional pictures wants us or our eyes to focus on their legs.

With the hype around SNSD / Girls’ Generation’s surprise comeback heightening after the reveal of the last set of teaser pictures along with their mini-album’s tracklist, members Sooyoung, Jessica and Yuri uploaded posts on their official website’s open board, where they talked about their excitement for their upcoming promotions.

KARA shows tears on preview of next week’s SBS’s “Strong Heart”

Recently, a preview of the members of KARA guesting on SBS’s “Strong Heart“ featuring the girls crying their hearts out over the past few months of controversy was aired at the end of the latest episode.

The girls came together for their first Korean activity since their “Jumping” promotions five months ago in support of fellow member Hara’s role in SBS’s “City Hunter.”

Although they were able to liven up the atmosphere with their sweet dances, it was obvious to all that they weren’t able to hide their many wounds caused by the contract dispute earlier this year. The girls burst out into tears as they reflected back over the past several months.

Seungyeon stated, “So many things have changed in just a few months,” while Hara added, “A lot of misunderstandings came about.”

It was leader Gyuri that showed the most tears, however, as she said, “I had no one to turn to.”

KARA’s Gyuri shares a tearful story about her grandma on SBS’s “Strong Heart”

KARA’s charismatic leader, Gyuri, recently shed tears while talking about memories of her grandma.

She appeared on May 24th’s broadcast of SBS’s “Strong Heart” and shared her story about how she couldn’t be at her grandmother’s side when she passed away.

The idol stated, “When I was little, my grandma was very scary. I found out later that she was like that because she was worried about her granddaughter that debuted at an early age. She loved seeing me on TV, but in 2010, right before our Japanese debut, she was hospitalized. I only talked to her on the phone and asked how she was doing, and she was just worrying about me and said that she was fine. I couldn’t even see her because of our Japanese debut preparations.”

She added, “Even after completing our showcase, we were still busy in Korea. I found out later that my grandma passed away on the day of our showcase. My parents purposely didn’t tell me. They didn’t tell me because they thought I would be affected and wouldn’t perform well and ruin our Japanese debut.”

Gyuri shed tears while saying, “I feel so much guilt for not having gone to see her, and I would’ve been so much comfortable if I went and saw her before we went to Japan. I was very pained when I thought about how much she missed me. I don’t really talk about myself and I didn’t even talk about this anywhere else.”

Group mate Hara said, “I know about this now but I didn’t know about it at the time. I found out about it much later.”

Super Junior’s Leeteuk clarifies what he meant by asking Suzy to lose weight

On May 31st, Super Junior’s Leeteuk guested on SBS’s “Strong Heart” and made an apology for a statement he made about miss A’s Suzy some time ago.

Suzy, who was also guesting on the show, began her story by explaining, “It hasn’t even been a year yet since our debut, and I’ve been up on the chopping block so many times for my weight gain, acting, speech mistakes, falling, and even for my runny nose.”

When asked what she had the most trouble with, she replied, “Since I’m a girl, I have trouble dealing with weight-related controversies.”

At her reply, Leeteuk looked uncomfortably at the camera, leading Heechul to jump in and explain, “Leeteuk once talked about Suzy on his radio program (Kiss The Radio). While talking about miss A’s comeback, he had told her to ‘lose weight’.”

Heechul continued, “I live with Leeteuk and we randomly came across a ‘chubby Suzy’ article. He told me, ‘She doesn’t look like she gained weight at all,’ and even mentioned that he would console her the next time he saw her. On the radio show, he had actually meant to say, ‘Why are you losing weight, Suzy, you don’t have to.’ The guests on the radio show reacted too quickly before he got to complete his sentence.”

Leeteuk added, “I couldn’t conclude myself at the time. About 3-4 days later, people began talkng about that. I didn’t feel it was right to bring it up again so I told someone I know to send her my apologies.”

Suzy said, “I swell up naturally; maybe it’s because I’m young. It differs day to day for me in that sometimes I’ll look heavier or thinner depending on the time of day.”

Kara’s new concept steals the spotlight?

Yesterday Kara released two teaser concept photos of their upcoming February comeback. The concept definitely struck our curiosity as we wondered what the girls could be looking for. Well it’s been revealed that the concept is actually called Stealer!

The girls ditched the cute colorful concept as they donned on dark clothing with flashlights. They carefully prowl the scene looking to steal something – but what could it be? Perhaps they’ll be stealing the spotlight?

It’s been announced that the album jacket and teaser will be released very soon so stay tuned to allkpop!

KARA’s Hara and Gyuri: “Our team cannot break up.”

It seems that KARA is still bent on staying together, as it’s being reported that Hara and Gyuri are attempting to convince the other members to return to DSP Media. The two have apparently expressed, “Our team cannot break up.”

A representative stated, “Hara and Gyuri both contacted the other members and told them that the team could/should not break up. [If we do], we’ll all fail together. I believe they’re trying to convince the other members by stressing the importance of staying as a group.”

A staff member of DSP stated, “If one member moves agencies, it’s highly likely that the others will reset contracts as well. They’re continuing to explain the misunderstandings.”

SNSD wows with chic airport fashion

On February 13th, all nine SNSD members returned to Seoul after promoting their songs in Japan!

Although the girls are laden with a busy schedule, they still managed to rock the airport with their chic fashion sense, ranging from the ultra-feminine to polished and mature.

In these pictures, most of the members are seen wearing black heels and skirts. With stylish bags on their shoulders, the girls strutted out of the airport gates as if it were a fashion runway.

f(x)’s Sulli has been voted as having the most beautiful eyes among girl group members.

A survey was conducted from September 27th to October 11th, where 734 people voted on “The girl group member with the most beautiful eyes.”

f(x)’s Sulli came in first with 329 votes (44.8%). Second place went to Brown Eyed Girls’ Ga-In with 204 votes (27.7%), and SNSD’s YoonA was third with 193 votes (26.2%).

A staff member who has worked with Sulli on the SBS drama, ‘The Ballad of Seo Dong“, expressed, “Sulli was born with acting skills and charming eyes. Despite her young age, she is a natural actress and understood her character perfectly. Furthermore, at the filming location, her bright smiles earned the affection of many sunbaes and staffs.”

Who has the best nose amongst the girl group idols?

“Face Line Plastic Surgery” recently conducted a three-week-long survey on which female idol possessed the best nose amongst her peers. The survey asked “Which idol girl has the most “elegant” nose?” A total of 769 people took part, and an overwhelming amount 363 (47.2%) participants chose SNSD’s Yuri as the ‘queen of the elegant nose’. Brown Eyed Girl’s Ga-In came in second with 204 (26.5%) votes, and f(x)’s Sulli took third with 189 votes.

Face Line Plastic Surgery chairman Lee Jung Woo said, “Yuri’s milky skin, large eyes, and soft chin create a harmonious relationship with her defined nose, creating a overall balance of ‘desirable’ qualities“.

For Ga-In he reflected, “She has a clear and unique persona she developed with her sharp nose and V-line chin. With her powerful smoky make-up, she emphasizes her alluring facial features“.

The chairman continued, “Sulli’s baby-like skin and natural nose line gives her an innocent image like Jun Ji Hyun. There is a very relaxed and friendly charm to her“.

Sunhwa shares pictures from SECRET’s break

The ladies of SECRET recently concluded their period of rest and are now gearing up for their official comeback. For the past year, the girls have been running without rest and have accomplished a triple hit home-run with “Madonna“, “Magic“, and “Shy Boy“.

So what did the girls do after concluding their “Shy Boy” promotions? SECRET’s Sunhwa has been collecting pictures of their break to share with fans, so check them out below!

“Hello, this is SECRET’s Sunhwa. We concluded our promotions for ‘Shy Boy’ back in February and have been briefly apart from everyone since then. For a few months, we stayed out of the TV spotlight and took a break doing whatever we loved for the first two months. The remaining two months were spent preparing for our new album. We did perform sometimes during our break, but they were overseas in the States and Thailand, so it was more like a vacation to meet our fans.

It was our first break in a while. What we liked the most was that we could roam around bare-faced since we’re usually dolled up with thick makeup for TV. Now that we’re re-energized, we’re preparing to return on June 1st with a new album. Please look forward to our transformation~.”

1. “While on break, we exercised a lot. After hearing that climbing mountains was good for dieting, we climbed a lot of mountains and rode our bikes around. This is a picture of me being excited after reaching the top of Bukhan Mountain. Manager oppa gave up midway, and although the climb is difficult, it feels like your head clears up so I highly recommend it.”

2. “All of the members bought the same bike. Not only does it keep us in shape, but we often go pedaling when we’re bored staying in our dorms. It lifts up your mood when you bike around the Han River, which is right where our dorm is in Hannam-dong.”
